
Harga emas menguat pada perdagangan hari ini meskipun data JOLTS Job Openings menunjukkan peningkatan jumlah lowongan kerja di AS. Secara teori, data tenaga kerja yang lebih kuat harusnya mendorong dolar menguat dan menekan harga emas.
Namun pasar tidak bereaksi sesuai textbook karena investor menilai kenaikan JOLTS kali ini tidak cukup kuat untuk mengubah ekspektasi terhadap kebijakan Federal Reserve. Dengan inflasi yang cenderung moderat dan komentar bernada dovish dari beberapa pejabat The Fed akhir-akhir ini, pasar tetap memandang peluang pemangkasan suku bunga sebagai skenario dominan. Sentimen ini memberi ruang bagi emas untuk melanjutkan penguatannya.
Faktor lain yang ikut mendorong harga emas adalah pergerakan imbal hasil obligasi AS yang justru melemah setelah rilis data, menandakan pelaku pasar belum sepenuhnya yakin bahwa kondisi tenaga kerja yang lebih kuat akan menahan rencana pelonggaran moneter.
Yield yang lebih rendah mengurangi opportunity cost memegang emas, sehingga permintaan terhadap aset safe haven ini ikut meningkat. Selain itu, ketidakpastian global dan potensi risk-off baik dari sisi geopolitik maupun tensi perdagangan mendorong investor untuk kembali menambah posisi emas sebagai lindung nilai.
Kombinasi faktor fundamental, ekspektasi kebijakan, dan dinamika pasar yang lebih kompleks inilah yang membuat emas mampu menguat meski data JOLTS secara kasat mata terlihat bullish untuk dolar.
